Vernon Glover Jr., CB

One of the newer emerging 2023 prospects on the Longhorns’ radar is the rising three-star Dickinson (TX) cornerback Vernon Glover Jr. Texas is one of the nine schools that have offered the 5-foot-11 and 170-pound in-state cornerback. And Texas and Texas A&M are two of the key schools to watch moving forward in the recruitment of Glover.

Glover was actually in College Station a few weekends ago for an unofficial visit, which came specifically back on Sep. 18.

But Glover had a lot of positive things to say about Sark and the Longhorns in their four wins so far this season. That included how he thinks that the Longhorns “are rolling now”. He also mentioned that this was a “statement game” and that Texas “made a statement” with this win over TCU.

At the moment, it feels like Texas has a really good chance to remain a leading school in the recruitment of Glover with the priority that the defensive coaching staff gave him in the last few months. Glover could be a solid underrated piece to help build a solid foundation for the secondary in the 2023 class.

Texas needs to continue to make the right impression with Glover this fall, and hopefully get him on campus for a big game weekend before too long. Glover has a key connection to Texas, and he was on campus for a visit over the summer. His cousin is Texas Ex Jermaine Anderson. Those two visited Austin together during the summer.
