Ashton Cozart, WR

A really interesting wide receiver target to watch for Sark, second-year wide receivers coach Andre Coleman, and the Longhorns is the touted four-star Flower Mound-Marcus product Ashton Cozart. The 6-foot-3 and 180-pound Cozart already has Texas as one of his frontrunner schools still rather early on in his recruitment.

But it appears that the relationship is really good between the Longhorns coaching staff and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex native Cozart. A recent report from Inside Texas (of the On3 network) mentioned that both Texas and Texas are “bonding with” Cozart.

There was a lot that Cozart had to say about Texas following this win over TCU. Similar to Glover, Cozart mentioned that this was a “statement win” for the Longhorns over TCU. And he also stated that he thinks this win over TCU will “help recruiting” as a whole for Texas.

It is also key to note that Cozart mentioned that he thought this game was “impressive on both sides”. Something that caught my eye personally was the fact that Cozart noted that he wishes to “see more passing from UT”.

That could be something to watch moving forward. With Texas looking really good in the passing game in the wins over the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Rice Owls in the prior two weekends, there had to be some momentum building with Cozart.

Texas needs to keep on Cozart or else some of the competition might creep up on them. It appears that Cozart is watching very close for his top schools week-over-week for how the passing games are trending. Some of his other top schools and more recent offers such as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, Oklahoma, etc., have looked really good in the passing game at different points of the season.
