No player was more valuable to their team over the weekend in this Texas-TCU than the starting running backs. Zach Evans and Bijan Robinson had themselves a big day each way on Oct. 2. The problem for Patterson and the Horned Frogs was that Evans only got the ball on 15 attempts on running plays.

Meanwhile, Sark and the Longhorns gave Bijan the ball on running plays on more than 30 attempts. He registered 216 rushing yards and two rushing scores in what was yet another outstanding performance for the star sophomore Heisman contender.

Through five games this season, Bijan still looks to be hanging around in the thick of the Heisman race among running backs. There’s just no way that you can quantify the value he’s brought to the table for this team since the last two or three games of last season.

It’s as simple as this; when Bijan runs the ball well, Texas tends to win games. Texas is 7-0 when Bijan rushes for more than 100 yards, dating back to last season.

This was the closest that Texas came to losing a game when Bijan rushed for more than 100 yards. A win is a win, though.

Bijan is starting to really prove that he looks like the nation’s best running back. He rushed for more than 200 yards when the TCU defense knew exactly who was getting the ball on most plays.

After leading the country in missed tackles forced last weekend, Bijan has established his superstar status through two games in Big 12 play.
