A massive couple of cost weekends are looming for Texas football recruiting in terms of hosting key targets on the trail. Against the Oklahoma schools in the next two weekends, Texas is set to host a ton of crucial visitors that are targets of the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes.

In terms of meaningful contact with the players and staff, the weekend of the Oct. 16 meeting with the Oklahoma State Cowboys should be more impactful for the Longhorns. But that is due to the fact that the Longhorns can’t have any actual in-person contact with the visitors they host for the annual Red River Rivalry game against the Oklahoma Sooners this coming weekend.

Texas football set to host more than a dozen key 2022 and 2023 recruits for Red River

Since Texas is the home team technically for this round of the Red River Rivalry against the Sooners, the staff will get an allotment of tickets to distribute to key visiting prospects. This presents the Longhorns staff with a big opportunity to host some local prospects around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

As Red River is hosted at the Cotton Bowl at the Texas State Fairgrounds in Dallas, it is easy to get some top targets visiting for a very meaningful game this fall. And it looks like Texas already has some key visitors in mind to host for Red River in Dallas on Oct. 9.
