Texas Football: 3 2023 recruits help Horns land Arch Manning

This weekend, the most important visitors for new head coach Steve Sarkisian are key targets of the 2023 Texas football recruiting class for the most part. Texas is set to host some key prospects this weekend in a key Big 12 matchup against head coach Mike Gundy and the No. 12 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys at home on Oct. 16.

It wouldn’t be surprising if this meeting with Oklahoma State at DKR this weekend amounts to the biggest visit weekend of the entire season for Sark and the Longhorns. Texas needs a bounce-back win following the tragic second-half collapse at the hands of head coach Lincoln Riley and the No. 6 ranked Oklahoma Sooners in the annual Red River Rivalry game from back on Oct. 9.

Texas got off to a hot start against Oklahoma last weekend but was outscored 45-20 in the last three quarters. That resulted in a 55-48 loss to the Sooners when it was all said and done on Oct. 9.

But this is a new opportunity this coming weekend for Sark and the Longhorns to make a positive impression with some huge prospects on the recruiting trail. And the most important target that will be on campus for the Longhorns this week is the elite five-star Isidore Newman (LA) quarterback Arch Manning.

Not only is Manning expected to be on campus for a visit during the Oklahoma State game, but Sark was also expected to visit this elite quarterback for his high school football game with Newman on Oct. 14. This is a huge week for Texas to make some progress with Manning.
