Texas football and first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian are heading into the first bye week of the season on an unsettling note. Texas just went through two meltdown losses against both of the Oklahoma schools out of the Big 12 in the last two weeks. This might have cost Sark his shot to make an appearance in the Big 12 Championship Game this fall just halfway through the season.

But before we get too deep into the doom and gloom point of view, it’s worth noting that there are some adjustments that Sark and the Longhorns can make during the bye week to help right the ship. We’re probably not going to see redshirt junior quarterback Casey Thompson put out as much of a stinker as he did in the meeting with the No. 12 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys last weekend.

More personnel shifts should be on the horizon for Texas football during the bye week

Thompson spearheading a more energized Longhorns’ team coming out of the bye week in the Oct. 30 matchup with the No. 20 ranked Baylor Bears on the road could help to get this team headed back in the right direction. And there are some other areas that Sark can adjust to help Thompson as much as possible.

It is clear that Texas needs to make some mindset and personal adjustments heading into the first bye week of the season. Some of these potential personnel changes for the Longhorns during the bye week are pretty obvious needed adjustments too.

With that in mind, here’s a look into three personnel changes that Sark and his staff should make during the bye week for the Longhorns.
