New head coach Steve Sarkisian and the 2022 Texas football recruiting class is about to face the most critical stretch in the next five or six weeks on the trail. Texas still has a number of the top prospects left on its big board for the 2022 recruiting cycle just a couple of months ahead of the Early Signing Period.

While Sark and the Longhorns already have a solid 2022 class in place at the moment, it would be disappointing to see them miss out on the remaining top blue-chip prospects for this cycle. Texas still needs to put in work with the likes of the elite five-star Frisco-Liberty wide receiver Evan Stewart, five-star North Shore cornerback Denver Harris, five-star Bowie interior offensive lineman Devon Campbell, four-star Bishop Alemany athlete Larry Turner-Gooden, etc.

Which current Texas football commits might be able to be flipped next month?

At the moment, the Longhorns hold commitments from 22 prospects in the 2022 class. But the highest-ranked of the bunch is still ranked outside the top 80 2022 high school prospects in the nation. The top-ranked commit as of the night of Oct. 25 in the Longhorns class is four-star Spearman (TX) athlete/wide receiver Brenen Thompson.

Thompson is one of a handful of talented and potent blue-chip skill position commits in the Longhorns 2022 class. And with the inconsistencies Texas had at the skill positions to start out this season, it’s apparent that Sark needs all the help he can get from talented guys in the 2022 class.

That makes it critical that the Longhorns hold onto the commitments that they do have in the 2022 class down the stretch ahead of the Early Signing Period and National Signing Day.

Yet, here’s a look into three Longhorns commits that Sark could be in danger of losing in November.
