The other running back commit that is also one of the more highly touted blue-chips in the Longhorns 2022 class could also be in danger of re-opening his recruitment before too long. Four-star Klein Cain running back Jaydon Blue was seemingly unhappy with the way some things were going on the field for the Longhorns in the last few games.

That came to fruition especially following the Longhorns tough one-possession loss and second-half collapse at the hands of the No. 12 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys back on Oct. 16. The fact that Texas lost to Oklahoma State and the Oklahoma Sooners in consecutive weeks the way they did obviously didn’t sit well with Blue.

Now, the Texas coaching staff showed a lot of faith in Blue throughout his decision to forego his senior year of high school football at Klein Cain. Blue is one of the longer-tenured commits in the Longhorns 2022 class. He committed to Texas back on Feb. 2, 2021.

If you asked me right now, I would say that the Longhorns are able to stick with the commitment of Blue through the Early Signing Period. It feels like there is more uncertainty right now surrounding the status of Miller than Blue.

And that is largely because there isn’t one tough competitor on the recruiting trail that is making a big run at Blue right now. Blue has not really entertained any other schools seriously, that is widely known at least, and he hasn’t taken an official visit since the one he had with Texas back in June.

Texas is going to have to put in some work to keep Blue’s interests firmly on landing on the Forty Acres. And if other top schools try to chip away at Blue’s interests while he seems rattled at the moment, this could be something to watch.

That is why it’s important to follow what happens with Blue’s recruitment throughout the month of November. If Texas can make it through that with his commitment, then it should be easier for them to sign him and get him enrolled early for spring ball.
