Before getting deep into this list, I want to mention that all of the potential transfer targets on here for the Longhorns were included if there’s not really any bona fide proof of contact between the parties. These are just ideas of who Texas should be in contact with if they need portal targets at these positions.

The most glaring need positionally entering next offseason for the Longhorns is definitely going to be all across the offensive line. There’s not necessarily one spot where the Longhorns will be settled in the trenches heading into 2022.

To make matters worse, Texas is going to lose redshirt senior OL Derek Kerstetter as he is set to run out of eligibility next year. Kerstetter is definitely the most consistent and proven offensive lineman for the Longhorns this fall.

Texas is likely going to have to turn to the transfer portal for help along the offensive line. That means going after some depth that can likely stick around for a while too. This is where targeting someone like the former Clemson Tigers redshirt freshman offensive guard Paul Tchio.

This former blue-chip recruit and 6-foot-5 and 300-pound guard could be a nice fit for the Longhorns. And it is a bit surprising that Tchio is in the transfer portal in the first place given his rise in snaps this fall compared to last season and the length of time for which he was committed to Clemson coming out of high school.

Tchio held a commitment in Clemson’s 2020 recruiting class for roughly 15 months before signing and enrolling with the program.

Yet, Clemson is now without one of their more promising young offensive linemen. And that could work to Texas’ benefit if they target him out of the transfer portal. Tchio would be able to compete for snaps next year at one of the guard spots alongside Junior Angilau.
