Texas Football: 3 transfer targets Sarkisian should be talking to right now
Hassan Hall, RB
Depending on what happens with the Longhorns 2022 class ahead of the Early Signing Period and National Signing Day, running back might not be a position of need out of the transfer portal next offseason. But if Texas winds up losing anyone to the transfer portal, or loses either of their two current blue-chip running back commits in the 2022 class, then the need to get some depth back will arise.
And this is why I believe it would be a good move for Texas to at least start looking into a potential transfer portal target at running back like the former Louisville Cardinals 6-foot and 205-pound redshirt junior Hassan Hall. As one of the more proven skill position players to enter the transfer portal
Texas is set to have the likes of star sophomore Bijan Robinson, redshirt sophomore Keilan Robinson, junior Roschon Johnson, and freshman Jonathon Brooks, all return next season. That is unless one of them decides to enter the transfer portal in the near future.
Hall is a bigger running back capable of breaking weak tackles and making some defenders miss in the open field. He’s also a capable receiver and blocking back. In his slightly less than four years playing for Louisville, Hall has registered roughly 1,300 rushing yards, 11 rushing scores, around five yards per carry, and nearly 1,500 total yards from scrimmage.
I’m not saying that Hall would be one of the top two running backs even for Texas. But he could be a solid option as more of a rusher that could be a weapon to run between the tackles and in short-yardage situations. That is not something Texas really gets right now out of Keilan. Roschon is mostly the one used in those situations right now outside of Bijan.
