On the morning of Nov. 26, new head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program will take on head coach Chris Klieman and an improved Kansas State Wildcats team. Granted, Kansas State looks to be without their super-senior dual-threat quarterback Skylar Thompson in this Black Friday regular season finale.

At the outset of Big 12 play, it looked like this Kansas State game was going to be a huge one for Sark and the Longhorns. As recently as last month, Sark and the Longhorns were having conversations about a potential rematch with the Oklahoma Sooners in the Big 12 Championship Game after a second-half collapse of a loss in the Red River Rivalry game.

The best fits for Steve Sarkisian with Texas football after a tough 2021 season

But Texas has gone on to have a historic losing streak in the midst of what is one of the most disastrous seasons in program history in the first year under Sark. It really doesn’t get much worse than what the Longhorns have experienced in the last six games.

The conversation is now largely shifting to what changes need to be made by the Longhorns heading into next offseason to actually right the ship under Sark. It’s clear at this point that this is going to be some type of a rebuild that Sark is leading the Longhorns through in 2022 and beyond. But how long will it take to rebuild this thing?

That is the question that everyone is looking to answer.

With that in mind, here’s a look into four Longhorns players that are both clearly bought in and are a good fit with Sark heading out of a disastrous 2021 season.
