4 Texas players that are great fits with Steve Sarkisian
Bijan Robinson, RB
It’s hard to imagine that the former elite five-star recruit and star sophomore running back Bijan Robinson would really be a bad fit with any big-time college football program. His attitude, raw talent, and proven production make him one of the brightest stars in the entire country.
The fact that Bijan was knocked out for the rest of the season in the Longhorns’ loss to Kansas a couple of weeks ago is a shame. At least Bijan did reach the 1,000-rushing yard mark on the season before the season-ending injury.
Prior to his season-ending injury, Bijan registered 1,127 rushing yards, 5.8 yards per carry, 11 rushing touchdowns, along with 295 receiving yards and four touchdown catches.
Bijan finished up his run this season as one of the highest-graded running backs in the Power Five. he was also one of the highest-graded skill position players in the Big 12 this fall.
All told, Bijan was also one of the highest usage players of any skill position players in the Power Five this fall. He was one of around a dozen running backs in the Power Five this fall that was either given the ball on a rushing attempt or was targeted in the passing game on at least 51 percent of the snaps they were on the field for. That list excludes any running back on the field for fewer than 150 snaps too.
There’s no doubting that Bijan and Worthy were the easiest players to include on this list. But it is always worth making the point that the biggest building blocks for this program are definitely going to be this skill position duo moving forward.
With Bijan set to return for the Longhorns in 2022, he should be considered one of the most prominent Heisman contenders out of the Big 12.
