It’s sure to be something that multiple Texas football fans thought on Black Friday. The weird feeling of new head coach Steve Sarkisian actually leading this Texas team to a win in the regular season finale gave this squad something they hadn’t received since early October; a win.

Topping head coach Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on the afternoon of Black Friday (Nov. 26), Sark and the Longhorns got their fifth win of the season. And it surely didn’t come easy for Sark and the Longhorns to beat Kansas State.

Texas getting this fifth win to cap the regular season does at least put the team in a position to potentially get a bowl bid this year, depending on what happens with other five-win teams this weekend. That also heavily depends on how the academic progress rate rankings stack up for the remaining five-win teams around the college football landscape coming out of the holiday weekend.

If nothing else, it was good for the Longhorns to at least end the regular season on a high note. They were riding one of the longest losing streaks in conference play in program history heading into this game. Getting a win here at least snaps the losing streak for Sark and the Longhorns.

For now, we can at least get a little bit of joy from this five-point win over the Wildcats on Black Friday. With that in mind, here’s a look into three takeaways from the Longhorns’ close win over Kansas State at home on Nov. 26.
