Oklahoma

No single Power Five program is in a brighter spotlight (and not in a great way) and in flux right now more so than the Oklahoma Sooners. Following the departure of the now-former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley to join the USC Trojans, the Sooners are suddenly in this state of flux that the program hasn’t seen more than the last two decades.

Oklahoma has already started to see an influx of players entering the transfer portal following the departure of Riley to take the USC job over the weekend. And considering the fact that Riley essentially took the entire significant portion of the Oklahoma coaching staff with him to southern California, the Sooners are going to have to hit the reset button in 2022.

Depending on who Oklahoma hires next to be their head coach that replaces Riley, Adeoye could be a valid transfer target. While most of the coaching staff that recruited him out of high school might be gone when it’s all said and done next offseason, this is still a place that is close to home for the Missouri native and could offer some familiar staffers to him.

Also, if Oklahoma loses any significant linebackers to the transfer portal this fall, Adeoye could be someone they turn to restore depth at the position. Adeoye is certainly a talented linebacker, he was just often injured in recent years and didn’t fit too well in the scheme under new co-defensive coordinators/linebackers coaches Pete Kwiatkowski and Jeff Choate.
