3 former OU transfers for Texas to target in December

A hot topic of discussion of late concerns the Texas football program and new head coach Steve Sarkisian in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Texas doesn’t really have any notable rumors coming out of the transfer portal entering next offseason. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of names for Texas to go after that could help out this team during the 2022 season.

Sark and the Longhorns clearly need help after a tragic six-game losing streak entering the offseason. And the transfer portal is likely where the Longhorns need to do most of their work to upgrade the roster ahead of the start of the 2022 season.

Plethora of OU talent in the transfer portal could be there for the taking for Texas football

One particular source that a lot of Longhorns fans feel that Sark and the coaching staff can draw from in the transfer portal this coming offseason is from the Oklahoma Sooners. With all of the turbulence surrounding the Oklahoma program right now after the departure over the weekend from the now-former head coach Lincoln Riley to the USC Trojans, there are players from Norman going into the portal in waves.

And that trend could continue with Sooners players entering the transfer portal this coming offseason, depending on who Oklahoma officially hires as the next head coach to replace Riley. Texas needs to take advantage of all of these talented Sooners players entering the transfer portal, though, while the door is open here.
