It’s crazy to think that two of the bigger impact transfer additions that Texas could get out of the portal at the wide receiver position even above what Wease could bring to the table are also from Oklahoma. One already has his name in the transfer portal, in the fellow former blue-chip recruit and redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jadon Haselwood.

And the other name to potentially watch here in relation to the Longhorns is the former top five-star recruit and Oklahoma’s leading wide receiver Marvin Mims. Yet, Mims has yet to officially put his name in the transfer portal, despite that looking like a real possibility depending on who Oklahoma hires next to replace Riley as head coach.

Since Haselwood is already in the portal, though, Texas should at least be scouting out what he could bring to the table for the Longhorns. He would be a major impact wideout for the Longhorns that could come in and be an outside receiver that really plays well off of others like Xavier Worthy and Jordan Whittington. The idea of having the size and speed of Haselwood with the speed and elusiveness of the likes of Worthy, Whittington, Thompson, etc. is mind-boggling.

In essentially a little more than two seasons worth of games playing for Oklahoma, Haselwood has registered 62 catches for 736 receiving yards (11.9 yards per catch) and seven touchdown catches. He really didn’t play in any meaningful downs in 2020 but had a pretty solid 2021 campaign despite the quarterback controversies at times in Norman.
