Xavion Brice, WR/ATH

Another current/former Oklahoma commit that now looks to be a key target of the Longhorns 2022 class is the under-the-radar three-star Arlington-Seguin athlete/wide receiver, Xavion Brice. Texas got on getting an in-home visit done with Brice really quickly following the departure of Riley from the Sooners.

Texas got an in-home visit done with Brice and his family already this week. This is another name to watch that is important to the Longhorns 2022 class moving forward.

With some of the struggles that Texas faced recruiting at the wide receiver position of late, flipping the commitment of someone like the in-state product Brice could be a good move. Honestly, at this point, Texas should be willing to take on most skill position prospects that are also Oklahoma commits that fit well in this system, regardless of their recruiting ranking.

Texas officially offered Brice during the summer, but contact faded out as other key targets of the Longhorns 2022 class took priority in terms of contact from the coaching staff at the time. Brice would commit to Oklahoma in early July, and that’s essentially where the contact with the Texas staff ended for good.

That is until now. Texas is rejuvenating the relationship with Brice and showing interest in bringing him into the mix ahead of the Early Signing Period. The 6-foot-1 and 175-pound Arlington, TX, product has excellent speed and overall athleticism as a track star in high school. If Sark believes in the fit with him in this offense, they should put a lot of priority on flipping the commitment of Brice.
