3 big-time prospects Texas is trending for ahead of signing day
We are now officially one week away from the start of the Early Signing Period for head coach Steve Sarkisian and the 2022 Texas football recruiting class. Texas is trying to close out this class on a high note, but there is still a long way to go. And it looks like there are definitely going to be some noteworthy narratives to watch for Texas even heading into National Signing Day.
As of the afternoon of Dec. 8, Sark and the Longhorns sit with 21 commits in their 2022 class. But more should be on the way before the Early Signing Period concludes next week. With the Early Signing Period set to begin on Dec. 15, there could be some commits that arrive in the next few days.

One big storyline that could impact some movement in the Longhorns 2022 class is the recruitment of the former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers potentially landing with Texas out of the NCAA Transfer Portal either on or before Dec. 13. The decision timeline for Ewers looks like it will wrap up before the end of the day on Dec. 13 (next Monday).
If Texas can land a commitment from Ewers out of the transfer portal, then a world of possibilities opens up as to who they can get in the 2022 class subsequently among elite high school prospects. But for now, there’s a host of 2022 high school prospects that are important to this Longhorns class that could already be trending to landing on the Forty Acres.
Here’s a look at three important 2022 Longhorns prospects that are trending to this class ahead of the Early Signing Period next week.
