Just a few days ahead of the Early Signing Period, the 2022 Texas football recruiting class now looks to have a ton of momentum. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood landed a massive commitment this weekend from the elite five-star Summer Creek offensive tackle Kelvin Banks.

This brings the Longhorns up to 22 commits in the 2022 class ahead of the start of the Early Signing Period on Dec. 11. And with how crucial this recruiting weekend is for the Longhorns 2022 class, more good things could be to come for this group.

Banks is a former commit of the Oregon Ducks and Oklahoma State Cowboys. The long and winding road that was his recruitment could finally land him on the Forty Acres during the Early Signing Period, though. If he does sign during the Early Signing Period in the days ahead, Texas will officially get this huge boost at a massive position of need in the 2022 class.
