Texas Basketball: 3 reasons why the Longhorns will dominate Stanford
A disappointing start to the regular season for new head coach Chris Beard and the No. 17 ranked Texas basketball program can still be turned around a bit before the Big 12 slate begins. While Texas has fallen short against each of the two ranked opponents they’ve faced so far this season, there’s still an opportunity to right the ship before it really gets to crunch time.
It was important for Beard and the Longhorns to get off to a solid start in the non-conference slate this season. But against some of the best competition that the Longhorns faced so far this season, they’ve largely fallen flat.
Texas lost to the No. 23 ranked Seton Hall Pirates in a close game on the road last week, which ended with a score of 64-60. That is one of two losses on the season for the Longhorns thus far. The other came at the hands of the No. 1 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs and head coach Mark Few last month by a margin of a dozen points.

Gonzaga and Seton Hall were the two chances that the Longhorns had to get it right. But now Texas can add its best win on the season so far as they face the Stanford Cardinal out of the PAC-12 at a neutral site on Dec. 19.
Texas takes on a 6-3 (1-1 PAC-12) Stanford team in the PAC-12 US LBM Coast-to-Coast Challenge on Dec. 19, with tip-off time set for 2 p.m. CT. And the Longhorns are a double-digit favorite heading into this one.
Here’s a look into three reasons why the Longhorns will dominate the Cardinal in this neutral site outing on Dec. 19.
