5 transfer portal targets on Texas’ Christmas wish list
Justin Clark, CB
Another absolute gem of a potential transfer portal target for the Longhorns that showed up in the transfer portal at a position of need early this offseason is the former Toledo Rockets redshirt senior standout cornerback Justin Clark. As one of the newest names to show up in the transfer portal this week, Clark is likely soon to get a rush of offers from Power Five schools.
There won’t be many cornerbacks with the proven production that Clark brings to the table showing up in the transfer portal this offseason. I do believe that there are going to be flashier names that pop up in the transfer portal this offseason at the cornerback position that will catch more of the attention of Longhorns fans.
But Clark is a name that should be taken seriously by the Longhorns. The 5-foot-11 and 190-pound defensive back brings 114 career combined tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, nearly 15 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries to the table out of the transfer portal this offseason. His role shifted over time with Toledo, but he is more than versatile enough to stand out right away at Texas.
Maybe the most impressive part of Clark’s game in the last few seasons with the Rockets is the fact that he’s only missed two tackles in the last three years. That came to a climax when Clark didn’t miss a single tackle on more than 30 attempts this fall. He is an extremely polished player that could help out this Texas secondary right away.
