The first potential landing spot for Williams that will come to mind for a lot of college football fans will be in southern California with the Trojans in the PAC-12. With the head coach that pitched and landed a commitment from Williams in Riley leaving Norman for the apparently greener pastures of USC in the PAC-12 South, it makes sense that this landing spot would appeal to the freshman quarterback.

Williams would be joining a talented offensive group in USC that is sure to land more talent by way of the recruiting trail and the transfer portal with Riley as the Trojans head coach.

Riley is also the offensive mind that is able to really open up the playbook for Williams and understands how he could best develop the up-and-coming talented signal-caller.

The big looming question mark with Riley and the Trojans as a potential landing spot for Williams out of the transfer portal is how much he wants to go to the west coast just to stick with Riley after he left Norman after just one year together. There could also be a looming quarterback competition at USC between freshman Jaxson Dart and Williams if he landed with the Trojans.

Granted, that quarterback competition would probably heavily favor Williams.

You can’t overlook USC as a potential landing spot out of the portal for Williams. It’s as simple as knowing that the coaching staff (especially Lincoln) Williams is familiar with and recruited him out of high school from Norman is now at USC. Depending on how much that sways his decision in the end, Williams could be USC’s starting quarterback in 2022.
