In the midst of a busy time of the offseason for Texas football recruiting and head coach Steve Sarkisian, there’s a lot to be hopeful about in the month ahead. Texas now has less than one month before National Signing Day 2022 arrives. That is the date (Feb. 2) that will officially round out the 2022 recruiting cycle.

This is also where Sark and the Longhorns staff are looking to put a real exclamation point on the 2022 class before it’s all said and done. Texas built up some real momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2022 class ahead of, and during, the Early Signing Period last month. Landing multiple commitments at the biggest area of need in the 2022 class, along the offensive line, helped this group get going in the right direction ahead of the turn of the calendar year.

Who to watch among 2022 Texas football targets in January?

A heavy focus still remains on what lies ahead for the Longhorns 2022 class along the offensive line. There are also a few other important targets of the Longhorns 2022 class that have yet to announce their decisions as of yet.

Some of the more emphatic remaining targets on the board for the Longhorns 2022 class ahead of National Signing Day have already signed their National Letter of Intent. In that case, they just wouldn’t have publicly announced their decision yet.

But others are waiting until Feb. 2 to announce their decision and subsequently sign at their college of choice.

With that in mind, here’s a look into three important targets to watch for the Longhorns 2022 class during the month of January.
