As No. 14 ranked Texas basketball and new head coach Chris Beard look to stay undefeated in Big 12 play this weekend, they’re getting set to take on head coach Mike Boynton and the Oklahoma State Cowboys on the road on Jan. 8. Texas should be able to stay undefeated through three games in Big 12 play when taking on Oklahoma State in Stillwater this weekend.

Beard and the Longhorns are now boasting a solid 12-2 (2-0 Big 12) record heading into this meeting with Oklahoma State on the road. Texas looked really good in their first two games of the Big 12 slate, clearing both opponents by a convincing double-digit margin.

Who is standing out for No. 14 Texas basketball recently?

In the Big 12 opener last weekend, the Longhorns downed head coach Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers by a comfortable 15-point margin. And then, Texas got another convincing double-digit win in their second game of the Big 12 slate. That second win in Big 12 play came over head coach Bruce Weber and the Kansas State Wildcats on the road on Jan. 4.

Texas is in a good spot through the first 14 games of the regular season. Despite some rocky stretches against ranked competition throughout the non-conference slate, some of the Longhorns’ best players are performing at a high level right now.

Beard and the Longhorns will need that trend to continue throughout the rest of the month of January to begin the Big 12 slate on the right foot.

With that in mind, here’s a look at three Longhorns players turning a corner at the right time in the midst of Big 12 play.
