Predicting Texas’ next 2022 commit after 4-Star Larry Turner-Gooden
Devon Campbell, IOL
There is a world where I could make three slides just on how critical it will be for the Longhorns 2022 class to land a commitment from the elite five-star Bowie interior offensive lineman Devon Campbell next month. Depending on how realistic it will be in the weeks ahead to get a commitment from Mathews, it the margin is enormous in terms of how important it is to seal the deal with Campbell compared to any other remaining target of the Longhorns 2022 class.
This might be the most highly anticipated National Signing Day commitment in relation to the Longhorns in the last few years. Campbell would be the perfect finishing touch to the Longhorns 2022 class on National Signing Day after a rocky cycle to say the very least for Sark and his staff.
If offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood is able to sign the elite five-star Summer Creek offensive tackle Kelvin Banks along with Campbell in the 2022 class, this might be the best class at this spot for the program since the turn of the century. And landing a commitment from Campbell would be the final part of making that happen to round out this signing class.
There was a point where the Longhorns looked to be dead in the water in terms of their offensive line haul in this 2022 class. But after adding commitments from the likes of Banks, four-star Allen OL Neto Umeozulu, and four-star Todd Beamer (WA) offensive tackle Malik Agbo, among others, this group is reaching elite status heading into the second signing period.
Adding a commitment from Campbell would be the best way for the Longhorns to round all of this out.
