2 transfer portal targets Texas is trending for
Now that the Texas football program and head coach Steve Sarkisian essentially have the 2022 recruiting class locked in, outside of one major remaining target, the focus appears to be shifting to the NCAA Transfer Portal. Sark and the Texas coaching staff do still have to win out the battle to get the decision of the elite five-star Bowie interior offensive lineman Devon Campbell ahead of National Signing Day next month.
The Longhorns could have a busy stretch ahead in the transfer portal given some of the recent names showing up on the market. Texas saw a bevy of former players from Big 12 foes and the National Champion runner-up Alabama Crimson Tide show up in the transfer portal this week.
Who Texas football is trending for right now in the transfer portal?
That should create a lot of buzz surrounding the Longhorns in the transfer portal throughout this month. This is the opportunity that Sark and the Longhorns staff were really looking for to fill a plethora of positional needs on each side of the ball.
Texas also had a plethora of losses to the transfer portal themselves earlier in the offseason. Two spots were already taken up by former Ohio State Buckeyes teammates in freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers and redshirt freshman cornerback Ryan Watts.
So, what lies ahead for Sark and the Longhorns staff on the recruiting trail to try and start off the 2022 offseason on the right foot?
A good start could be adding some of these recent names to show up in the transfer portal. Here’s a look into two players in the portal that are now trending to the Longhorns.
