A little more than one month into the offseason for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program, a main topic of conversation tends to be the NCAA Transfer Portal. Texas is looking to fill a number of positional needs out of the transfer portal at this point of the offseason.

On the other hand, though, there were a number of transfer portal entrants for Sark and the Longhorns that could still be a looming storyline to watch moving forward. Texas could see another wave of transfer portal entrants around spring camp. There is also a pretty big wave of transfer portal entrants occurring right now around the college football landscape.

That could be something that claims more Longhorns players in the near future.

More Texas football players to watch that could enter the transfer portal this offseason

So far this offseason, the Longhorns lost a dozen players to the transfer portal. Some of those were anticipated losses for Sark and the Longhorns staff in all likelihood. But there were some others that likely weren’t planned losses to the transfer portal.

That list could include the likes of junior tight end Jared Wiley, redshirt junior quarterback Casey Thompson (granted it was expected that either he or Hudson Card would be gone at some point this offseason), and junior safety Chris Adimora. It will be interesting to see if anyone else enters the transfer portal at key positions throughout the rest of the offseason.

Nonetheless, here’s a look into three players deeper down the depth chart that could still wind up putting their name in the portal this offseason.
