It will never be easy to digest for the Longhorns faithful to think that an offensive-minded head coach for this program such as Sark could lose out on a battle for a commitment from a touted wide receiver to the Tennessee Volunteers as they did here. Sark and the Longhorns did lose out on the former Wyoming Cowboys breakthrough redshirt freshman wide receiver Isaiah Neyor last week.

Neyor announced on his Twitter timeline on the early afternoon of Jan. 8 that he would be taking his talents to Tennessee over offers from other schools such as Texas, the USC Trojans, and Ole Miss Rebels. Yet, it looks like this recruitment might not be over yet.

There still remains a final decision for Neyor before he officially signs and enrolls at his next landing spots. It still sounds like he’s leaning toward Tennessee. But competing schools for Neyor such as Ole Miss could wind up flipping his commitment depending on how his decision-making process goes in the next few days.

Moreover, Texas hosted Neyor on a visit roughly 10 days ago prior to him announcing his initial commitment to Tennessee. Given how Texas is looking for help at the wide receiver position, especially with one that could be more of a possession receiver on the outside, it looked like Neyor was a good fit for this offense.

He also just wrapped up his redshirt freshman campaign, giving him multiple years of growth and eligibility left in his college career.

During his two years at Wyoming, Neyor registered just over 1,100 receiving yards, a dozen receiving touchdowns, and 21.7 yards per catch. He was one of the best wideouts in the Mountain West Conference in the season that was.
