This coming weekend, there will be some big-time visitors on campus that are targets of the 2023 Texas football recruiting class that are definitely worth watching. But one of those that will not be on campus that is essentially the clear-cut top target of the 2023 class is the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning.

Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee are making Manning the all-in target for the Longhorns 2023 class. And that was really apparent since around last summer. Texas is going to continue to make Manning their top priority in the 2023 class too.

Even though Manning won’t be in attendance for the Longhorns’ Junior Day this coming weekend, the coaching staff will still get to see him in his home state of Louisiana. According to a report from Inside Texas on Jan. 18, Milwee will be representing the Longhorns in a visit with Manning on Jan. 21 at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, LA.

Texas will be one of multiple schools with coaches in attendance in NOLA this week to visit Manning. A few of the other notable schools that are set to visit with Manning this week are the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, and Florida Gators.

The USC Trojans and Georgia Bulldogs were also reportedly in attendance to visit Manning in NOLA earlier this week.

Moreover, the reason why the Longhorns will not be having Manning in attendance for Junior Day this weekend is the fact that he has prior basketball obligations. He’s got basketball with Newman this coming weekend that will keep him away from the Forty Acres.

It is good to hear, though, that the Longhorns will have Milwee in attendance this week to still see Manning despite him not making it to Junior Day this coming weekend. Texas has hosted Manning plenty of times on campus. And there should still be more visits ahead for him to Austin.
