While senior guard Courtney Ramey might actually be the Longhorns player on this list that is struggling the least of late, his play still isn’t doing much to help this team find success on the right side of the win column. Ramey’s play is also very important to the Longhorns’ ultimate success in terms of win-loss record this season.

The last game you could really say that Ramey was standing out for the Longhorns was in the win in the Red River Rivalry game on the hardwood last week against the Oklahoma Sooners. He scored in double figures on that night while shooting better than 40 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc.

Yet, in the last two games, we didn’t see Ramey make much of a consistently positive impact on either end of the floor. In the loss to Iowa State, Ramey registered 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists on just 33 percent shooting from the field.

Ramey also had just four points on 25 percent shooting from the field and 20 percent from beyond the arc. He also registered just one rebound and no assists in the loss to Kansas State.

We can’t just see Ramey fade off the floor in key spots like this for Beard and the Longhorns in Big 12 play. He’s too important to what Texas does game in and game out to see him come up with four-point nights when he’s taking eight attempts from the field.

Texas needs to see a big bounce-back game from Ramey when they take the floor at home at the Erwin Center this weekend looking to rebound against Oklahoma State.
