The activity in the NCAA Transfer Portal for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program in the last couple of weeks. Texas landed two commitments out of the transfer portal in the last week or so, helping to upgrade the skill positions ahead of next season.

The first commitment that Sark and the Longhorns staff added this week was the former Alabama Crimson Tide junior tight end and blue-chip recruit Jahleel Billingsley. Texas was looking to upgrade at tight end this offseason, especially after losing fellow junior Jared Wiley to the TCU Horned Frogs via the transfer portal earlier this month.

And the second addition out of the portal this week for Sark and the Longhorns came with the former Wyoming Cowboys breakthrough redshirt freshman wide receiver Isaiah Neyor. Texas actually flipped the commitment of Neyor from head coach Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers following his visit to Austin earlier in the week.

Who’s next for Texas football out of the transfer portal after landing WR Isaiah Neyor?

Texas did well to fill a need that was pretty high on the priority list early this offseason by landing a commitment from Neyor. The Longhorns prioritized landing a lengthier wideout that could be a potent target as a possession receiver on the outside.

At this point, the Longhorns don’t have many scholarships to use out of the transfer portal. So the few positional needs the Longhorns have left to address this offseason will have to be filled sparingly.

With all of this in mind, here’s a look at who the next commitment could be for the Longhorns out of the portal after landing Neyor on Jan. 20.
