Another position of need for the Longhorns to address in the 2023 class comes along the offensive line. It’s really hard to narrow down exactly which spot along the offensive line that Texas and offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood must prioritize first in the 2023 and 2024 recruiting cycles.

But a good place to start is with all of the depth among potential blue-chip targets on the recruiting trail for the 2023 class. Texas had a good number of potential blue-chip recruits that are targets of the 2023 class on campus for Junior Day this weekend. One to watch is the rising four-star Vandegrift offensive tackle, Ian Reed.

I mentioned ahead of the start of Junior Day weekend that it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Reed as one of the first 2023 prospects to officially get a scholarship offer. And that’s exactly what happened with the Longhorns making Reed one of the nearly 10 offensive tackles for the 2023 cycle that have an offer coming out of the weekend.

Reed is another key target of the Longhorns 2023 class that looks to have received an offer at a great time. Texas is a school that really sticks out among those on his offer sheet. And he is another local Austin product that Texas should be able to keep in-state.

Texas is the ninth school to get an offer out to Reed as of the night of Jan. 23. A few of the other notable schools on his offer sheet are the Colorado Buffaloes, Duke Blue Devils, TCU, Indiana Hoosiers, Kansas Jayhawks, and North Texas Mean Green.
