Potentially the most exciting part about the Longhorns 2022 signing class is the immediate upgrade that the team could get in the trenches. Texas had to improve in the trenches on both sides of the ball this offseason. And they were largely able to get started on that task by bringing in such highly coveted offensive and defensive line hauls in the 2022 signing class.

But you would have to give the edge in terms of the best position group in the Longhorns 2022 class to the offensive line. Texas brought in nearly a half-dozen blue-chip offensive line signees since the first signing period.

And the most highly coveted of this group of touted offensive linemen is the Arlington-Bowie product Campbell. Texas signed Campbell as the final addition among high school prospects to the 2022 class. And this was certainly a good one to get in the mix on the final signing day of the 2022 cycle for high school prospects.

It is very realistic to see Campbell starting right away at offensive guard opposite of rising senior guard Junior Angilau. Most of the snaps that Angilau took in 2021 came at right guard in the first half of the season. But he moved to left guard for the second half of the season, so his snaps were almost evenly split between the two spots.

The good news is that both Campbell and Angilau are pretty versatile. Flood could really slot either of them where he wants in 2022.
