At the wide receiver position, a name to watch for the Longhorns 2024 class is the rising 6-foot-1 and 170-pound Samuel Clemens (TX) product Freddie Dubose. As is the case with Kibble, the Longhorns got in on the recruitment of Dubose pretty early on. And just like with Kibble, we’re hoping that this early traction means something over the long haul with Dubose.

The early signs are there that Texas is finding some real traction with Dubose. This could be something that leads to Texas eventually getting a commitment out of Dubose if new wide receivers coach Brennan Marion can really do a nice job on the recruiting trail with the in-state product.

Texas got an offer out to Dubose pretty recently. He officially got his Texas scholarship offer on Jan. 22. That places the Longhorns as the second school that was able to get an offer out to Dubose.

The other schools on his offer sheet are the Texas Tech Red Raiders, TCU Horned Frogs, Utah Utes, Houston, and UTSA.

Dubose was one of the few-dozen key high school prospects that Sark and the Longhorns hosted in Austin last month. It sounds like the visit that Dubose had to Austin was a successful one by all accounts too.

It’s hard to tell just how the timeline for Dubose will play out. But this is certainly a time where the Longhorns have plenty of momentum with the potential blue-chip wide receiver prospect. He is certainly a name to watch this offseason.
