Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and offensive line coach/offensive coordinator wrapped up the 2022 recruiting cycle for the Texas football program on a high note earlier in the week. Texas wrapped up this cycle by getting the final piece in the 2022 class to be the elite five-star Bowie interior offensive lineman Devon Campbell.

This was about as good of a cap for the Longhorns 2022 class as we could see to get Campbell committed/signed back on Feb. 2. Texas had their biggest positional need along the offensive line entering the Early Signing Period back in December. And Flood and the Longhorns did more than address that by way of the 2022 signing class since the first signing period.

Texas landed the likes of Campbell, fellow five-star recruit/Summer Creek offensive tackle Kelvin Banks, four-star Allen OL Neto Umeozulu, four-star Todd Beamer (WA) offensive tackle Malik Agbo, etc., since the first signing period.

Which 2023 Texas football recruiting targets should now want to play with 5-Star IOL Devon Campbell?

Texas definitely brought in more than enough talent to start rebuilding in the trenches in 2022. One of the main looming tasks now for the Longhorns staff will be capitalizing on the momentum they found on the recruiting trail to round out the 2022 class. That should mainly come in the form of Texas getting things going for the 2023 class.

With the 2022 class officially now in the rearview mirror, the focus will turn to what the Longhorns can do for the 2023 class for the remainder of the offseason.

Here’s a look into three elite 2023 recruiting targets for Sark and the Longhorns that should want to play with the five-star IOL Campbell now that he’s committed and signed with Texas.
