Roschon Johnson, RB

The lone name on this list that isn’t a quarterback (at least currently) is the rising senior running back and former blue-chip recruit Roschon Johnson. Despite Johnson no longer playing at the quarterback position since first arriving on the Forty Acres, there is still some level of benefit that could come his way from the addition of an experienced coach like Cutcliffe.

Adding a well-respected offensive mind such as Cutcliffe could help with analysis, player development, and game planning that might slip through the cracks if Texas had a less experienced analyst on staff, or if this role was vacant. Those factors are things that can help open up the offense and find more creative ways to use the versatile skill position weapons that the Longhorns have such as Johnson.

This is also something that can help other experienced skill position players for the Longhorns right away such as star junior running back Bijan Robinson, redshirt junior wide receiver Jordan Whittington, sophomore wide receiver Xavier Worthy, etc.

The difference with Johnson is the fact that he is a former converted quarterback that can make an impact in multiple phases of the game for the Texas offense. This gives the Texas coaching staff more ways that they can utilize Johnson creatively.

Adding Cutcliffe to the off-field staff on the offensive side of the ball could help the Longhorns in similar ways to the addition of Patterson to the defensive staff. But Cutcliffe has some connections with the Manning family that should help in a big way and an offensive mind that can bring newer ideas to the table in 2022 for Sark and the Longhorns.
