Arch Manning, QB

Essentially every month throughout this offseason will be important to watch what happens between the Longhorns and the insanely highly-touted five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning. Arch-Madness will continue to be a thing in 2022.

It sounds like getting Manning to the Forty Acres will be a top priority for this coaching staff in the weeks ahead. Manning wasn’t in attendance for the Junior Day that Sark and the Longhorns staff hosted a few weeks ago. But Texas did get a few coach visits in with Manning in Louisiana in the past couple of months.

Texas is basically still doing everything they can with Manning to keep making progress in the battle to land his commitment. But there is one new factor that could help the Longhorns case in the recruitment of Manning.

Texas could potentially hire a very proven and experienced college football coach as an offensive analyst of sorts to the staff soon. With Texas looking to hire former Duke Blue Devils head coach David Cutcliffe to the off-field staff, there could be a new connection that forms for this program with the Manning family.

Cutcliffe coached up both Peyton and Eli Manning in past stops with the Tennessee Volunteers and Ole Miss Rebels, respectively. That connection could be big for the Longhorns in relation to the pursuit of Manning in the weeks and months ahead.

It also sounds like there could soon be a top group of schools announced for Manning that would likely include the Georgia Bulldogs, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Texas. Most indications are pointing to Clemson being eliminated. But that’s not something that is concrete from the Manning camp as of yet.
