Jonah Wilson, WR

With wide receiver being one of the biggest positions of need in the Longhorns 2023 class that Sark and new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion must address, this is obviously an area to watch for any recent offers that went out. That’s why it’s notable that Texas offered a talented rising four-star in-state wideout and Dekaney product in Jonah Wilson recently.

In the days following the Longhorns “Junior Elite Day” late last month, Wilson would receive his official Texas scholarship offer. The Texas offer specifically came his way on Jan. 25.

Wilson is going to surely be a wideout to watch moving forward for the Longhorns. The 6-foot-1 and 195-pound in-state product is a former converted quarterback that really saw his game pop off late last season with Dekaney.

He’s a lengthy outside receiver with an excellent route tree that also can go up and get the 50/50 balls. It looks like Wilson could be a natural fit as an outside receiver in Sark’s offensive scheme. There are areas in which Wilson still needs to improve. His blocking and physicality off the line of scrimmage are two areas to watch in particular.

But Wilson is a speedy and gifted wideout that could be special at the next level. If Sark and Marion feel like he is the right fit in this burgeoning Texas offense, he could be a really important target of the Longhorns 2023 class to watch in the months ahead.
