Freddie Dubose, WR

Among the more realistic targets of the Longhorns 2024 class that is definitely on their radar early on is the potent 6-foot-1 and 170-pound Samuel Clemens (TX) wide receiver Freddie Dubose. Texas actually became one of the first schools to offer Dubose. The scholarship offer from Texas officially came Dubose’s way on Jan. 22.

Some of the other schools that have offered Dubose along with Texas are the Texas Tech Red Raiders, TCU Horned Frogs, Houston Cougars, and Utah Utes.

It appears that there is plenty of traction already between Dubose and new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion. Dubose and Marion apparently met for the first time at Texas’ Junior Elite Day last month. That is where a number of offers were handed out to emerging targets of the Longhorns 2023 and 2024 classes, which just happened to include Dubose.

If you were to group up any prospects that the Longhorns are finding real traction with early on in the 2024 recruiting cycle, you would have to include Dubose. It looks like Texas made a great impression on him. And knowing how much help Texas needs at wideout in the next two recruiting classes, there is ample reason to prioritize prospects such as Dubose.

Watch out for Dubose to remain one of the top wide receiver targets on the radar for Marion and the Longhorns 2024 class in the months ahead. He could certainly be a top target for Texas to prioritize throughout the offseason.
