Texas basketball and first-year head coach Chris Beard are back in action on the night of Feb. 15 in the second of two meetings during the regular season slate in the Red River Rivalry game on the hardwood against the Oklahoma Sooners and their first-year head coach Porter Moser. Texas is set to take on Oklahoma to try and sweep the regular season series on the road in Norman on the night of Feb. 15.

Beard and the Longhorns are coming into this meeting with the Sooners after a tough double-digit loss on the road at the hands of the No. 10 ranked Baylor Bears on Feb. 12. That loss to Baylor over the weekend snapped a two-game winning streak for Texas. The Longhorns come into this one with a record of 18-7 (7-5 Big 12).

Meanwhile, the Sooners have lost four of their last five games coming into this meeting with the Longhorns. Their last game resulted in a tough two-point loss to the Kansas Jayhawks at home on Feb. 12. That gives the Sooners a record of 14-11 (4-8 Big 12) coming into this matchup.

Here’s a look into the betting odds, TV/streaming information, and game prediction as Texas gets set to hit the road to take on Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman on Feb. 15, with tip-off time set for 8 p.m. CT.

Texas basketball vs. Oklahoma prediction

Texas had a pretty difficult time against Baylor all-around last weekend. Despite the Longhorns being essentially at full strength and the Bears being very short-handed, Texas couldn’t get much of anything going on either end of the floor.

One of the reasons for that was some early foul trouble for essentially every key player in the Longhorns’ frontcourt unit. Senior forwards Timmy Allen and Christian Bishop had nine fouls combined in the loss to Baylor.

Allen will be a key cog if the Longhorns are wanting to knock off the Sooners to sweep this regular season series. He had a down game against Baylor, shooting just 3-of-9 from the field with eight points.

Another important player for the Longhorns against the Sooners will be the senior scoring guard Marcus Carr. Allen and Carr both struggled in the loss to Baylor. Carr shot just 1-of-5 from the field and missed on his one attempt from beyond the arc in a tough afternoon against the Bears.
