Arch Manning, QB

The most notable target of the Longhorns 2023 class by a good margin is the uber-talented five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning. Texas looks to essentially be putting all of their quarterback eggs into one basket for the 2023 recruiting cycle with Manning being the clear-cut top priority at the position.

Texas doesn’t even have another scholarship offer out to an uncommitted 2023 quarterback prospect outside of Manning. Of the three quarterbacks the Longhorns offered so far for this cycle, Manning is the only one with his recruitment open at the moment.

And it doesn’t look like Texas is going to offer another 2023 high school quarterback prospect with any intention to prioritize their recruitment anytime soon.

The good news here for Texas, though, is the fact that they are likely sitting in the midst of a group of four or five top schools in the race to land a commitment from Manning right now. Some of the other top schools for him in all likelihood are the Ole Miss Rebels, LSU, Alabama, and the Georgia Bulldogs. It looks like other schools such as the Ohio State Buckeyes and Clemson Tigers are falling behind the leaders at this point.

Sark and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee are obviously making a massive push in the race to land a commitment from Manning. And the next step in that process is likely to be getting him to campus at some point during the spring for his next visit to Austin. Texas did have multiple coaches visit Manning in Louisiana in the last couple of months. But getting him to Austin for another visit is key.
