3 transfer portal targets that are now on Texas’ radar
A busy start to the offseason for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program has slowed down a good bit of late. In the latter stages of winter workouts, Texas is also in a rather quiet period on the recruiting trail.
We’re currently sitting in a dead period in terms of contact with potential new additions to the program for the Longhorns.
This combination of factors means that this is also a pretty quiet period in terms of the news cycle in the NCAA Transfer Portal. The college football landscape will probably see another big wave of movement in the transfer portal once again come spring ball. That could mean a big wave of entrants to the transfer portal at the beginning and end of spring camp around the college football landscape.
Transfer portal targets emerging on the radar for Texas football
Until that time arrives, though, there are a limited number of targets out of the transfer portal for the Longhorns. There are still a few to note. And they will be important to watch heading into early March.
Texas will continue to be active in the transfer portal until they reach the scholarship limit later this offseason. Some of the positional needs the Longhorns are likely to address will be at linebacker, defensive back, edge rusher, and potentially still at wide receiver and along the offensive line.
Sark and the Longhorns staff were never expected to stop adding players out of the transfer portal after four signees. With that in mind, here’s a look into three recent transfer portal targets that are now firmly on Texas’ radar ahead of the start of spring ball.
