3 most notable former Texas players still available in the portal
Chris Adimora, S
As is the case with Adeoye, it looks like there should be a multitude of schools that are lining up as suitors to get the former blue-chip recruit and junior safety Chris Adimora out of the transfer portal. The 6-foot-1 and 205-pound defensive back was one of the lowest-graded defensive backs in the Big 12 last season.
But Adimora did see some success on the Forty Acres playing at a few different spots in the secondary for Texas in the last three seasons. Adimora was never one of the most efficient defensive backs in the Big 12. But there is something to be said for someone like Adimora that has more than 800 career defensive snaps under his belt and can make big-time plays in noted conference games.
What Adimora brings to the table out of the transfer portal is more than 60 career combined tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, seven pass breakups, seven quarterback pressures, and 17 stops. Adimora is a much more proven coverage safety than he is playing in the box and/or blowing up plays in the backfield.
There is value that other teams can find from a safety like Adimora out of the portal at this point of the offseason.

Moreover, not too long ago, Chris’ little brother, Nick Adimora, announced his commitment out of high school to FCS Eastern Washington. Will we soon see Chris announce his commitment out of the portal?
As is the case with the other two former Longhorns players in the transfer portal right now, it doesn’t look like any one potential landing spot out could realistically be favored for Adimora. That is at least the case for what information we know of thus far.
