Texas Basketball vs. West Virginia: Betting odds, TV, stream, pick
On the afternoon of Feb. 26, No. 20 ranked Texas basketball and first-year head coach Chris Beard will hit the road to face head coach Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers. Texas will be looking to move their winning streak to two games if they can top West Virginia on the road in Morgantown this weekend.
Beard and the Longhorns are coming off a solid nine-point win over head coach Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs at home at the Frank Erwin Center back on Feb. 23. That win over the Horned Frogs earlier this week gives Texas a record of 20-8 (9-6 Big 12) heading into this meeting with West Virginia.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineers come into this game sporting a record of 14-14 (3-12 Big 12) following their tough 84-81 loss to the Iowa State Cyclones on the road back on Feb. 23. West Virginia is really struggling of late, losing five games in a row and 12 of their last 13.
Here’s a look into the betting odds, TV/streaming information, and game prediction as Texas gets set to take on West Virginia on the road on Feb. 26 at the WVU Coliseum, with tip-off time set for 1 p.m. CT.

Texas basketball vs. West Virginia prediction
Texas has a nice opportunity here to take advantage of a down West Virginia team to build up some momentum heading into the final stretch run of the regular season. With the Longhorns still having the likes of the Baylor Bears and Kansas Jayhawks on tap to round out the regular season slate, Texas needs to gain some confidence in this one.
There are two key players that are really important to watch the Longhorns want to do in this one. The first is the redshirt senior shooting guard/wing Andrew Jones. Coming off a big outing in Texas’ win over TCU earlier this week, Jones has a lot of momentum ahead of this meeting with West Virginia.
In the win over TCU, Jones came up with 21 points on 47 percent shooting from the field and 87 percent from the free-throw line. Jones will also be looking to stretch his streak of 20+ point games to four against West Virginia.
Texas is also looking for a big game out of the senior forward Timmy Allen. After responding well to a down game in the Feb. 19 loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Allen should have confidence heading into this matchup against West Virginia. In the win over TCU, Allen put up 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, no blocks, and three turnovers.
Allen will be extremely important to the Longhorns if they want to comfortably beat the Mountaineers in this one.
If the trio of senior guard Marcus Carr, Jones, and Allen, come up big in this meeting with West Virginia, this should go in the Longhorns’ favor. But this is a West Virginia team playing with nothing to lose. This still isn’t an easy task necessarily.
