As spring ball approaches around the college football landscape, we are likely to see the news cycle for the Texas football program really pick up in terms of activity on the recruiting trail and in the NCAA Transfer Portal. The lifting of the dead period this weekend on the recruiting trail will allow second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff to host visiting prospects again on campus.

And the beginning of spring drills around the country could cause another wave of entrants to the transfer portal. That will likely play to the advantage of the Longhorns given their plethora of positional needs they’re still looking to fill, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Yet, there are already some names that have popped up in the transfer portal as of the end of the month of February that are worth looking into for Sark and the Longhorns. And there are also some remaining transfer portal targets for the Longhorns that are worth watching heading into the spring. That includes the likes of the former TCU Horned Frogs senior defensive end/edge rusher Ochaun Mathis and Louisiana senior linebacker Lorenzo McCaskill.

Which newer transfer portal entrants are players that are worth offering for Sark and the Longhorns staff entering the month of March, though? That is a tougher question to answer since the transfer portal activity wasn’t quite as noticeable in the last few weeks as it was in December and January.

Nonetheless, here’s a look into three recent transfer portal entrants that Texas should offer in March.
