With a number of new faces set to challenge for starting roles with the Texas football program in spring ball, second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have quite a few challenges ahead of them. Figuring out how the two-deep depth chart should play out during spring camp is a critical task for Texas to get right.

Sark and the Longhorns staff have the personnel necessary to contend in the Big 12. Talent is not the issue here.

The proper personnel usage and player development will be the themes of the offseason in terms of configuring the two-deep on each side of the ball. With that could come some potential position changes during spring and fall camp. In fact, there are already some position changes announced for the Longhorns a few weeks ahead of the first spring practice.

What position changes are worth watching in spring camp for Texas football?

Position changes will be one of the most important aspects of spring ball to note for the Longhorns faithful. That is something that could greatly alter the two-deep and how the coaching staff winds up using certain personnel in a pivotal 2022 campaign.

There weren’t all that many significant position changes that Sark had last season that impacted results on the field for the Longhorns. But that is likely to change now that Sark and his staff had a full year to go through various player evaluations and schematic adjustments.
