5-Star LB target Anthony Hill says he has a ‘good bond’ with Texas
A big month lies ahead for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff as they are set to host a number of visitors that are key targets of the 2023 and 2024 Texas football recruiting classes. Sark and his staff have to be mainly focused on the 2023 class at this point in time, though.
Sark and the Longhorns staff are also looking to make some headway with some of their top five-star targets of the 2023 class. That includes the likes of the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning and five-star Denton-Ryan linebacker Anthony Hill.
Texas has two of their top targets of the 2023 class between Manning and Hill. These two are also some of the highest-rated prospects for the 2023 recruiting cycle that holds Texas offers at the moment.
The latter of those two also has to be considered one of the two or three most important defensive targets of the Longhorns 2023 class. Hill has the Texas coaching staff, namely special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks and Sark, putting everything they have to prioritize his recruitment.
Sark himself is putting a lot of attention and energy into this recruitment, which goes to show how important Hill is for this staff.
And it sounds like Texas is seeing some progress since the turn of the calendar year in terms of making the right impression with Hill. Texas made it into his top six finalist schools, which he announced last month.
That long-term relationship the coaching staff is building with Hill is one of the main reasons why.
According to a report from Horns247 on March 4 (paid content), Hill said he’s got a “pretty good bond” that he’s built with the Texas staff. That is good to hear as it sounds like the Texas staff and Hill’s camp are starting to really build on the relationship that was formed in the last couple of years.
Texas football reportedly building a strong bond with 5-Star LB target Anthony Hill
Hill essentially said that he’s starting to dig deeper with the Texas coaching staff of late as they try to show where he could fit best on this defense.
Moreover, it looks like Texas will be getting Hill on campus for the spring game next month. That is a good next step to continue building on this connection between the uber-talented Texas native linebacker and the Longhorns staff.
Texas is one of the top schools to watch in the recruitment of Hill heading into the spring. A few other schools to watch in his recruitment includes the Alabama Crimson Tide, Miami Hurricanes, Texas A&M Aggies, and Oklahoma Sooners.
