The visitor list among top targets of the 2023 and 2024 Texas football recruiting classes during the months of March and April continues to grow for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff. And with the expanded visitor list for the spring for Sark and the Texas staff comes more opportunity to really get some momentum going on the recruiting trail throughout the rest of the offseason.

Sark and the Longhorns could be awaiting an enormous wave of momentum in the months ahead if this round of spring visits goes well.

And one name that you can add to the ever-growing visitor list for Sark and the Longhorns staff this spring is the rising three-star North Crowley (TX) linebacker S’Maje Burrell. According to a report from Horns247 on March 8 (paid content), Texas is set to get a visit from Burrell during the final weekend of the month, specifically on March 26.

This is going to be a really critical visit for the Longhorns staff to make the right impression with Burrell. Texas looks to be firmly in the running in the recruitment of Burrell at the moment. But there are some other schools hot on his pursuit of late.

Burrell already visited the Oklahoma Sooners last weekend, and they seem to have a lot of momentum in his recruitment right now. And it seems like things are still heating up between Burrell and the Longhorns’ Big 12 foes such as the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Baylor Bears.

Oklahoma State just hosted Burrell for an unofficial visit on March 6. And he visited Baylor back in January as they continue to remain a player in his recruitment.

Texas does look to be getting Burrell on campus at the right time this spring. There should be a ton of blue-chip targets for the Longhorns 2023 and 2024 classes on campus in the weeks ahead, which should continue to generate a real buzz around the future of this football program.

As of the night of March 8, Texas only holds one commitment in the 2023 class from the touted four-star Arlington-Seguin defensive back Jamel Johnson. That could change for Sark and the Longhorns staff in the very near future, though.
