Texas forecasted to get commitment from 5-Star QB Arch Manning

As we move closer to his weekend visit with Texas football later this month, the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback and the clear-cut target of the 2023 recruiting class Arch Manning will continue to dominate the discussion on the Forty Acres. Texas looks to be squarely in the mix of the frontrunners in the race to land a commitment from the highly coveted Manning.

Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are obviously making a huge play for Manning, which is why he is the only uncommitted quarterback for this recruiting cycle that has an offer from Texas. Sark and the Longhorns are essentially putting all their eggs in one basket by only offering Manning among the uncommitted quarterbacks remaining for this cycle at this point.

But that move seems to be working well for Sark and the Longhorns staff thus far with the Manning camp. There are some indicators that Texas has to be considered one of the top two schools potentially in the race to land a commitment from Manning.

Manning is about to take his third visit with Texas since last fall. Texas also has the lone visit that Manning currently has scheduled for the spring. That could change in the weeks ahead. But it’s notable that Texas got the first one on the books.

There is also an updated prediction on the On3 recruiting prediction machine that projects Manning’s commitment to land with Texas over the rest of the field. The On3 recruiting prediction machine also still gives Texas the edge in general to land the commitment of Manning over the likes of the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide.

While this is certainly no guarantee that Texas holds firm as the top school in the recruitment of Manning, this is still a potential indicator of where things are trending throughout the rest of the offseason.

At the moment, it does look like there are three schools that hold most of the momentum in the race to land a commitment from Manning. Texas, Alabama, and Georgia are the three schools that look to sit squarely in the discussion of the schools at the forefront of Manning’s recruitment.

But this is still likely going to be a very patient process for a decision to come from Manning. It’s still realistically looking like Manning could take this process of his recruitment through the fall before a decision is ready to be made.

For the time being, though, Texas has a huge opportunity to continue to make a positive impression on Manning with the visit he has coming up on the weekend of March 24. There will be multiple blue-chip targets of the Longhorns 2023 class, especially at the skill positions, on-campus for that weekend.

The buzz that will be generated in the final weekend of March is going to be enormous.

Manning looks to have a group of five or six schools that sit at the top of his list including the aforementioned trio of Alabama, Texas, and Georgia, along with the LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, and potentially the Florida Gators.
