Among the top targets to watch that look to be trending in favor of the 2023 Texas football recruiting class in the month of March is the highly touted four-star Harker Heights interior offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman. As one of the top in-state offensive line targets for Texas’ 2023 class, Chatman could be one of the staple commitments heading into the spring.

There are still some necessary strides the Longhorns must take in order to eventually land the commitment of Chatman, though. Texas offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood is clearly making Chatman a priority for the Longhorns 2023 class.

Chatman is also reverberating the energy that Texas is throwing his way of late. He speaks very highly of Texas since his visit a couple of months ago during the Junior Elite Day. And that is likely to continue to be the case heading into spring camp on the Forty Acres.

Inside Texas provided some insight (part of the On3 Network, paid content) with a few notable recent quotes from Chatman this week. Speaking on the matter of his visit to Texas back in January, Chatman said that it “was an experience like no other”. He also mentioned that he will “definitely” be visiting Texas again soon.

The Texas football offer to 4-Star IOL Jaydon Chatman still carries meaning

It was also notable to hear from Chatman that the Texas offer (since it was his first) “sits big on my heart”. It’s clear that the priority the Texas coaching staff placed on the recruitment of Chatman could pay dividends in the very near future.

Texas offered Chatman back on Sep. 18, 2021, just before the likes of the Baylor Bears and Texas Tech Red Raiders could get scholarship offers out to him too.

Moreover, Texas looks to be in a fantastic position with Chatman right now. The moves that Flood and the Longhorns staff made back in January seemingly further affirm the traction between them and Chatman’s camp right now.

dark. Next. 4 upperclassmen with a lot to prove in spring ball

Texas did well to haul in an elite group along the offensive line in the 2022 signing class, highlighted by five-stars such as Summer Creek offensive tackle Kelvin Banks and Bowie IOL Devon Campbell. Chatman could be one of the foundational pieces of the Longhorns 2023 class to continue the momentum along the offensive line.
